Damaged Data Error in Sage 300

In this blog, we will be discussing about Damaged data error, which might occur while opening the module screen in Sage 300 ERP. Sage 300 development partner over the years have developed custom modules in Sage 300. Based on the requirement changes, development partner makes the necessary changes into the module. After making the necessary changes, we need to activate module in Sage 300 ERP and need to check all screens are functioning well or not.

When you try to open screen from module the below error screen appears.

Error Message 1: Damaged Data. GD Setup. Data dictionary is inconsistent.

Error Message 2: Error occurred when opening view GD0100.

Error Message 3: View (View id) is not a valid View ID.

Error Message 4: Error occurred when activating Sage 300 Data Source.

Follow the below steps to resolve the error:

  • Navigate to Start Menu and type “Database Load”. Open as a Run as administrator.
  • Sign into Sage 300 as a user with Database Load security credentials.

  • Once user clikks on OK , list of previously loaded database will be displayed.
  • Click on Set Directory option and browse to the directory where the data to be restrored is saved.

  • Click on OK.
  • After you get the desired data, select the system file of your data set and click on Next option. In the below case it is SAMSYS.DCT.

A list of already created databases will be displayed. Select the database in which you want to load your data set and click on Next.

Now click on Finish to start loading your data set’s system file in the system file of the above selected database.

Once the database is loaded again with the sample company, try to login again in Sage 300 with the same company. This time the damaged data error wont appear and sage 300 will start properly.
