In recent times, there has been a noticeable trend among Sage 300 users where they are transitioning from the traditional Sage 300 desktop application to the more advanced and user-friendly Sage 300 web screens. In this blog we are going to discuss the most impactful change in Sage 300 Cloud with the release Sage 300 2021 PU2. Prior to this Product update the reports in web screens were generated in preview automatically in the same browser tab. However, with the introduction of the 2021 PU2 release, Sage has made a significant alteration to this functionality. After this release, the preview of report is no longer displayed in SAP crystal Reports viewer. Instead of this, Sage has implemented a direct export feature for reports. While printing report, The Export Report screen appears in a new browser tab and provides options for saving a report to a file. The report with chosen format will be exported and saved to the user’s Downloads folder. It is important to note that if a physical hard copy of the report is desired, the report should be exported to PDF first, then users can proceed to print the report on a physical printer according to their requirements.

In order to enhance flexibility and accommodate user preferences, Sage has introduced two additional settings.
- While exporting report, if you do not like to select the report format each time, you can force the Export Report function to just export the report using default form selected. To do the same please follow below steps:
- Go to Web.config file from the \Online\Web folder.
- Open the Web.config file in a text editor.
- Look for the key: “ReportPromptForExportFormat”
- Changes the value: False
- Save the changes and restart the IIS.
- If you want you change the report format to other, then follow below steps:
- Go to Web.config file from the \Online\Web folder.
- Open the Web.config file in a text editor.
- Look for the key: “ReportDefaultExportFormat ”
- Changes the default format value 5 to one of the format values from the list below.
- Save the changes and restart the IIS.
- Available format values:
- 3 : Word
- 4 : Excel format
- 5 : PDF format(Default)
- 8 : Excel Record
- 10 : CSV format
- 13 : XML
