In this blog post, we will discuss about one of the Report printing issues that one faces when printing Sage 300 reports directly to the Printers.
In our previous blog post, we discussed about the different Print Destinations available with Sage 300 ERP.

While printing any transaction of Sage 300 ERP (Formerly known as Sage Accpac ERP), when we set the
Print destination to printer and print the report, nothing seems to get printed. But if we set it to preview mode, then the form works fine. A Test Page from the Printer preferences also works fine.

The New Stuff : Sage 300 ERP Edition Differences

One of the probable causes of the issue is that if the printer’s name is longer than 31 characters, you would not be able to print directly to the printer.

So in order to resolve the error, you should shorten the printer name so that it is less than 31 characters.

Description:
Sage 300 ERP reports may not print to selected printer. The report job is not even visible in the print spooler. However it works when selecting a different printer. Cause this could happen if the selected printer has a printer name that exceeds 31 characters. Resolution Sage 300 ERP does not recognizes any printer name which exceeds 31 characters. This is by design.
To resolve the issue will require you to either:
• Shorten the printer name to be within 31 characters.
• Create another logical printer with a printer name that does not exceed 31 characters.

By following the above directions, you can print reports directly to printers.
