Much awaited Excel 2007 (.xlsx) support in Product Update 1 for Sage 300 ERP v2014

You must have already heard about release of Product Update 1 of Sage 300 ERP 2014. In this blog, let’s discuss one of its additional feature that has been introduced in Product Update 1 to enhance  Standard Import and Export routine support of Excel 2007 (.xlsx file format).

Below we have described new features and enhancements included in Product Update 1.

Here let us take an example for the Export option in the Order Entry screen. Refer the below screenshot for the same.

In the above screenshot you can find the “Export …” option in the File Menu. When you select the Export option then a new screen “Export” is popped up where the option to Export to Excel 2007 is available , which is not present in the release version of the Sage 300 ERP v2014. Refer the below screenshot for the same.

When “OK” button is clicked then all the details of the Order gets exported to the xlsx file format.

Similarly user can Import the Data from the .xlsx file into Sage 300 ERP v2014 have Product update 1 and above.

Note: If Excel 2007 is not available as a file type when importing or exporting, you must install Microsoft Access Database Engine 2007.
