Inventory management is a critical skill for all stock-based enterprises. It is, however, a need for individuals in the manufacture, distribution, and retailing of perishable commodities. The perishable commodities are marked with batch codes in addition to serial numbers, allowing businesses who deal with this type of stock to track things that have passed their sell-by or best-by dates. This stops customers from purchasing them and allows all goods from that batch to be quickly traced and disposed of if there is an issue with a product. Once an inventory item has been issued a lot tracking number, all of its movements within the system must utilize the same lot number – a lot number is required when an item is created or acquired, when it is sold, and when it is returned.
Sage 300 ERP provides us with various reports to track down the Lot and Serial Inventory. One such report is the IC Serial/Lot Stock Listing report. This report provides us with the details of lot wise quantity sold or the serial numbers sold which helps to track the quantity of the Lot/Serial inventory. Also the report has the provision to filter the lot/serial number based on the sold stock, reserved stock or the expired stock. In this blog we will see the report details for Lot Inventory.
