Enhance Lot Allocation in the Inventory Control Module screens by adding extra columns

The initiative to customize the Lot allocation screen within Sage 300 by incorporating supplementary columns holds substantial merit. This customization stands to significantly enhance the system’s user experience and its capacity for data analysis. The inclusion of these extra columns serves to capture and present finer-grained specifics pertaining to individual lot numbers, thus engendering several noteworthy advantages like Enhanced Data Monitoring, Augmented reporting, informed data analysis.

This customization is done in Inventory Control Module on below screens:
1. IC Adjustments
2. IC Transfers

As users engage in lot allocations through these screens, the introduced extra columns will become readily apparent. These columns are designed to accommodate pertinent information that can be populated as needed. It’s noteworthy that this customization is seamlessly integrated into the existing functionality, ensuring that the core system remains unaltered. This approach allows for a tailored experience without impacting the fundamental operations of the system.

Below new columns are added in Lot Number Allocation screen of the Inventory Control Module.

  • MRP
  • Customer
  • Comments

The user is restricted from editing data in the fields, ensuring the integrity of data input within the Purchase Order (PO) module. However, it’s important to note that this can be adjusted as per specific requirements.

Furthermore, the details relating to the lots are stored within the Lot Master screen. As this information is stored in the backend system, it becomes readily available for the purpose of generating customized reports. Users have the capability to create reports that cater to their individual business requirements, incorporating the recently introduced lot-specific details.
